MY TRACTORS

I only have one tractor that I own at this time. It is a New Holland 1720 compact tractor. It has 27 h.p. on the PTO (Power Take-off Shaft). They rate larger tractors differently than lawn tractors or other types of engines. This power rating system is much more conservitive than the ratings of other forms of power equipment. It is 4-wheel drive, which is a good thing, and it has a 3-cylinder diesel engine. The reason I say 4-wd is a good thing is because I haul logs and plow snow. It allows me to get to places I would not even attempt to get to with a 2-wd tractor. I will put pics of this tractor on here soon!

My New Tractor

I am currently paying for a 1936 John Deere B Unstyled tractor. This tractor is a Two-Cylinder model that was origonly sold in Moline, Ill by the John Deere branch house there. It is in GREAT condition. It has original, working shutters (RARE), Steel rim cuttoffs (means it has rubber tires on rims that were meant for steel lugs. A John Deere practice on early rubber tired tractors.), perfect seat with working adjustment lever, and a radiator cap that works (rare because they were made of brass and people would tighten them too much and strip the bolt out.). I hope to have this tractor by the spring of 1999. This pic was taken from www.antiquetractors.com. It it exactly like my tractor except mine has a shutter control handle and rod.
